Foundation shade ➡️ Is there a way to choose a shade that perfectly matches my skin tone?
I think choosing the shade is the hardest part whenever I buy foundation. It looks fine when I test it in the store because of the lighting, but when I get home and look in the mirror, my face looks like it's floating or it's too dark... I really fail a lot 😥
I'm confused about whether I should apply it to the back of my hand, compare it to my neck, or test it on the side of my face. Also, it's unclear whether I have a warm or cool undertone, so I always end up buying based on the staff's recommendations, but I've realized that isn't always the right answer.
Please share some criteria for choosing a foundation shade that matches my skin perfectly, how to test it, and any tips to avoid disappointment! I'm also curious about how to distinguish between skin tones and how to pick a color that looks natural and doesn't cake. Please let me know!
