Should I apply moisturizer?

I have a moisturizing cream, but I don't really end up using it.

I'm skipping the moisturizer and just applying cream to finish.

I apply it occasionally, but I don't really see any benefit to it, nor do I see a reason to use it, so I don't reach for it often.

I'd like to know the benefits of moisturizing cream and why I should use it.

I'm using the CNP moisturizing cream below, and it is soft and nice.

I am also wondering if I should use moisturizer continuously or only when my skin is dry. If anyone knows a lot about moisturizers, please let me know the benefits and why I should apply them.
