I'm so worried about my base makeup crumbling in the summer ㅠㅠ How does everyone else handle this?

Hello! As the weather gets hotter and more humid these days, I’ve developed a major beauty concern, so I’m leaving a question...

No matter how much effort I put into my base makeup before leaving for work, as soon as lunchtime passes, the foundation settles around my nose and my makeup just crumbles down due to the excessive sebum. ㅠㅠㅠ

I’ve tried using matte foundations that claim to have good staying power, and I’ve even tried finishing with powder or makeup fixer, but by the afternoon, my base makeup invariably wears off and clumps up, causing me immense stress. When I wipe away excess oil and reapply cushion foundation for touch-ups, it actually looks even thicker and cakeier, so I honestly don't know how to fix it. I’m wondering if the problem lies with my basic skincare routine or if I’m applying it incorrectly.

Do you happen to have any personal tips for base makeup during the hot and humid summer, or recommended products (skincare, primer, setting spray, etc.) that help prevent your makeup from smudging? If you have any tricks for keeping your makeup looking fresh until the afternoon or know-how for touch-ups without clumping, please be sure to share them in the comments!
