There are some nail colors that are pretty but don't suit my hands. Is there a way to choose without fail?

There were times when I chose a nail color because it looked pretty, but it didn't look like what I had imagined once I actually applied it to my hands.
The atmosphere looked good in the review photos, but there were some colors that looked particularly off on my hand.
At first, I thought it was simply a matter of personal preference.
However, I was worried after hearing that the colors that suit you vary depending on your skin tone.
I was wondering if hands are also heavily affected by tone, just like the face.
Even though they were in similar shades of pink, some colors looked fine while others felt awkward.
I was also concerned about how it looked different depending on the lighting.
So I wanted to know how to set criteria when choosing nail colors.
Everyone else seems to choose naturally, but I still find it difficult.
