I've lost my way in the labyrinth of personal color, where my colors waver as the seasons change.
There is one thing I am thinking about most seriously these days.
It is this strange phenomenon where it seems like my personal color changes along with the change of seasons.
They say personal color doesn't change, but... since my face looks like a completely different tone every time the seasons change, it’s beyond confusion to the point where I’m actually feeling a bit of fear(?).
When spring comes, my face inexplicably looks brighter with a yellowish tint, so I think, "Ah, I must be a Spring Warm," but then I look dull in photos, so I lose that conviction. In the summer, my face heats up and turns red, so I look like a Cool Ton, but when I get sunlight, I look like a Warm Ton again. Since the face in the mirror and the skin tone captured by the camera tell us different things, I really don't know what to believe.
In autumn, the lighting all gets warmer, so there are many days when I look yellower for no reason. So, when I wear warm-colored clothes or lipstick, it seems to suit me, but when I wear the same colors the next day, I look tired and dull... I can't tell if my skin tone is right or if I'm just being fooled by the seasonal lighting.
The problem gets worse in the winter. There is almost no natural light, and indoor lighting is so yellow that my skin sometimes looks suddenly frozen and pale. Also, if I choose the wrong lip color even slightly, my entire face gets lost, looks yellow, or appears washed out with redness. Some days I look like a cool tone overall, but on other days I look like a mysterious tone that isn't warm either—I don't know how to describe it—so I am confused about whether I should even trust personal color analysis.
So these days, I am seriously thinking about it.
Is it true that personal color never changes?
Or does the visible tone change due to the season, lighting, skin condition, or your overall health?
I am currently unable to determine exactly which colors bring out my best features, so I feel cautious and apprehensive every time I buy cosmetics or choose clothes. That is because a color that suited me today might not look right at all tomorrow.
I wonder if it is normal for it to look like a completely different tone every season.
Or maybe I'm missing something,
I really wish someone would teach me.
Just how much does the season influence my personal color?
I am seriously considering this because I want to know the exact standards.
