Will Cica cream really help when my skin barrier is compromised? (Concerns about sensitive skin)
My skin has become particularly sensitive lately.
My face would turn red just from washing it, and I felt a stinging, burning sensation when applying toner. The dermatologist told me that my skin barrier had weakened significantly. Since hearing that, restoring my skin barrier became my top priority.
Since most people recommended Cica cream when I searched online, I looked into various products to see if it would really help. I heard that Cica cream contains ingredients (such as Madecassoside and Centella Asiatica extract) that soothe damaged skin and strengthen the skin barrier. At first, I thought it was just a trend, but as someone with sensitive skin, I was desperate for it.
The first Cica cream I used gave me a slight cooling sensation as soon as I applied it, and by the next morning, I felt that the redness and tightness had decreased a little. Of course, the skin barrier doesn't recover immediately in just a day or two, but with consistent use, I noticed less irritation and my skin texture gradually becoming smoother.
However, I don't think all Cica creams are the same. Some products were actually too oily, which caused breakouts. So, I realized that if you have sensitive skin, it is important to check the full list of ingredients and choose a product that is free of irritating fragrances or alcohol.
Lately, after washing my face, I apply a generous amount of Cica Cream instead of toner, and at night, I use it together with a skin barrier repair cream. My skin definitely feels a bit more stable. It hasn't fully recovered yet, but I think the Cica Cream has definitely helped strengthen my skin barrier to some extent.
Are there any others out there with sensitive skin like mine, whose skin stings no matter what you apply?
I'm curious to know which Cica cream was really effective and helped restore the skin barrier.

- 03CommentsAfter laser hair removal, your skin can become sensitive, so moisturizing and soothing care are important. Apply a thin layer of mild, fragrance-free moisturizer, and it is best to avoid hot saunas or harsh exfoliation for the time being. Please also pay attention to sun protection when going outdoors.
