Is scrubbing your skin good for it?

I used to scrub off dead skin often when I was young, but these days I use body scrubs.

But there are so many famous exfoliating gloves out there, so I'm thinking of buying one.

Does scrubbing off dead skin have any negative effects on the skin? Is scrubbing better for the body skin?

I would like to hear your opinions.
