Has anyone seen results from Costco Minoxidil (hair loss medication)?

It gets harder to find black hair from the parting near the bangs down to the crown.
Actually, ever since college, I've been self-conscious about hair loss along my parting, so I even went to a dermatologist.
I used to grow my hair really long when I was young...
My mom, who couldn't stand seeing my hair get messy after shampooing, always braided it before it was even dry.
I suspect that having thinning hair on the crown of my head might also be a factor.
Has anyone tried Costco Minoxidil 5%?
Does it really work if I use it for about 3 to 6 months?
Some people say that because it flows down onto the forehead, only that area looks soft and downy like a man's...
Please give me lots of feedback if you have experience.
