True to its name, it contains essence, making it moisturizing. You might think of Whoo as a brand for older generations, but that isn't necessarily the case. I recommend this to those who dislike a matte finish and prefer a dewy look. I believe this is a shade worth trying even for those who usually use shade 23. In the middle of summer, I apply a thin layer of sunscreen before applying this. The downside might be that the SPF is only around 35.
