What kind of foundation would be good for the mom generation?

My mom, who wears makeup even when she is at home, despite living in the countryside.
However, looking at the cosmetics, it seems they are frugal, as there are many samples and they appear to use only inexpensive products.
What would be a good foundation for my mom?
I'm not really familiar with this kind of thing.
