How do you manage your foundation when it cakes or doesn't apply well due to skin troubles during the change of seasons?
Whenever the seasons change, it is common for the skin to become sensitive, red, and bumpy due to coughing and a runny nose. Lately, I have also been worried because my foundation doesn't apply smoothly and tends to cake severely. Since my skin is dry and flaky, my base makeup doesn't adhere at all; instead, it feels like it accentuates my flaws, to the point where there are times I want to give up on makeup altogether.
I have tried moisturizing thoroughly after washing my face and even applied a soothing cream, but my skin still doesn't calm down easily. In particular, due to the redness and uneven texture, even when I use a foundation with good coverage, it doesn't look natural and feels heavy and suffocating.
How do you manage your skin when it becomes sensitive during the change of seasons? If you have any great tips or product recommendations to help foundation apply well, please share them; it would be really helpful. Right now, I'm wondering if I should focus on soothing and moisturizing my skin, or if I should change my makeup method.
