VDL Cover Stain Foundation has been consistently popular for several years, so I was curious and tried it, and I was more satisfied than I expected.
First of all, what I liked most was that despite its thin and lightweight texture, it offered quite good coverage. It naturally concealed subtle skin concerns like blemishes and redness without the need for a separate concealer, which allowed me to reduce my makeup steps and consequently save time.
The adhesion is also really outstanding; once applied, it clung to my skin like a second skin and stayed comfortable all day long without lifting.
I am very satisfied using it for daily wear because it doesn't smudge or feel greasy, especially in hot weather like this.
The finish is close to semi-matte, so rather than feeling too dry and powdery, it feels moderately matte, and as time passes, a natural glow emerges, making the skin look much healthier.
I was particularly impressed by its staying power, which barely rubs off on masks, so I was able to use it with peace of mind even these days when we wear masks frequently.
Even when I have to do my makeup in a hurry before work, applying just this one product sets my base nicely, so it has become a product I reach for often, and I always carry it in my pouch.
The color wasn't yellow or grayish, and it blended naturally with my skin tone, making my whole face look radiant.
Especially for someone like me with a skin tone between shades 21 and 23, choosing the color wasn't difficult. It finished without darkening or looking cakey over time, so I was able to maintain a clean complexion all day long.
If I had to point out one drawback, it is that for those with dry skin, you need to apply a small amount and spread it quickly for better adhesion.
If you apply it directly to very dry skin, it might cake a little, so you can use it much more satisfactorily if you apply a sufficient base. However, since this is something you have to accept to some extent with all matte foundations, I didn't feel it was a major drawback.
Overall, since this product is well-rounded in terms of coverage, adherence, longevity, and setting power, I felt it was truly impeccable as a daily foundation. I would especially recommend it for those who want to give their skin a naturally polished look without appearing overly made up.
I plan to continue using this, and I am thinking of repurchasing it when I run out.
