What foundation do you use that covers pores well?

My biggest stress these days is that my skin looks uneven all over. The pores around my nose and cheeks are particularly prominent, so I'm worried because applying foundation actually seems to accentuate them even more. Matte foundations cake, and dewy ones make the pores look even more noticeable... I really don't know what to use.

I've tried using a primer as well, but I didn't notice much of a difference, which makes me feel even more frustrated. Please recommend a foundation that covers pores naturally without looking thick. It would be especially helpful if you could share recommendations based on products you have actually used.
