It's a famous ointment for scar treatment. If you apply it continuously to red, non-inflamed scars, they seem to fade faster than if you don't use it at all. However, you absolutely must not apply it if there is even the slightest inflammation or pus in an acne lesion. It actually made the inflammation worse.
