Skin barrier care to protect before it breaks down
Honestly, I didn't really care about my skin in the past.
I couldn't really feel much of a difference whether I used cleansing foam or cream.
However, as I've gotten older, my skin feels tight even just from washing my face, and if I get even slightly tired, my cheeks turn red and peel.
I looked it up and found out it means that "skin barrier care" isn't working.
I get exposed to the air conditioning at work, suffer from fine dust when I get off, and often find it bothersome to even remove my makeup on weekends.
I found that if I let my guard down for just a few days, my skin would immediately become rough.
So these days, I cleanse gently and have switched my moisturizing cream to one containing ceramide.
However, the problem is that it is not easy to maintain consistently.
Social media is flooded with “skin barrier care routines,” but I’m not sure which one works best for my skin.
Some days the product seems to work well, but then it flares up again before and after my period.
So these days, I've returned to the principle of 'apply sparingly, but consistently.'
My skin becoming sensitive is probably a sign that my body is exhausted.
Now, 'care that protects you from falling apart' has become more important than 'care for becoming beautiful.'
I think “skin barrier care” is the starting point.
