Nasal dryness causes the inside of the nose to become very dry and filled with scabs.
1. Check the indoor temperature and humidity before going to bed. The key is to keep the indoor temperature below 25℃ and maintain the humidity at 50–60%.
2. Do not forcefully pick your nose. This can cause damage to the mucous membrane, leading to nosebleeds or other complications. The best course of action is to moisten a cotton swab with water to soften the scab and then gently remove it.
3. Blow your nose gently. If you blow your nose hard due to stuffiness, you are likely to irritate the blood vessels in the mucous membrane. Be careful, as this can easily cause a nosebleed.
4. Clean the inside of the nose by putting physiological saline solution into it. Using a commercially available dedicated tool is also an option.
5. If dryness symptoms are severe, apply ointment to the inside of the nose before going to bed. It is helpful to put some petroleum jelly on your fingertips and gently apply it to the mucous membrane.
6. Do not take off your mask when going out. Extremely cold or hot air irritates the nasal mucosa. Be careful, as this makes it easier for viruses to invade, increasing the risk of catching a cold or rhinitis.
