Corn and skin?

Corn has long been a representative summer food and is said to be one of the world's three major food resources, along with rice and wheat.

I steamed and ate corn yesterday too, and it tastes really good since it's in season.

I spotted an article that really caught my eye, so I brought it here.

 

Benefits of corn
Corn is a cereal food containing nearly 30% carbohydrates, and it is rich in potassium and vitamin B, as well as protein and dietary fiber. Foods that pair well with milk are eggs and beans.

While corn is nutrient-rich, one drawback is the presence of limiting amino acids. A limiting amino acid refers to an essential amino acid found in the smallest amount in a food. The limiting amino acids in corn are lysine and tryptophan. In other words, consuming corn as a staple food limits the intake of the essential amino acids lysine and tryptophan, which can lead to deficiencies. A lysine deficiency can result in muscle loss, skin damage, and memory decline. Furthermore, since about 3% of ingested tryptophan is synthesized into niacin (vitamin B3), a tryptophan deficiency can cause skin diseases—one of the symptoms of pellagra, a niacin deficiency—and can also be a cause of depression and sleep disorders.

Therefore, if corn is a staple food or consumed in large quantities, it should be supplemented by eating foods rich in lysine and tryptophan. Examples of such foods include milk, eggs, and soybeans. Since milk and dairy products are rich in lysine, it is beneficial to pair them with corn. Eating corn cereal with milk or making corn soup with milk and cheese are also good methods. Eggs and soybeans are rich in tryptophan as well as lysine. Therefore, mixing tofu and corn together and frying them makes for an excellent nutritious snack. Additionally, adding corn kernels to soybean noodle soup or omelets to enhance the texture is also recommended.

It tastes best when steamed, not boiled.
How should corn be cooked to enjoy its best flavor? The Rural Development Administration recommends steaming rather than boiling in water as a delicious way to eat corn. For glutinous corn, steaming it with two to three inner husks attached helps retain moisture, resulting in a more moist and chewy texture; simply steam it over high heat for 20 to 30 minutes and let it rest for 10 minutes. Sweet corn and super sweet corn should also be steamed to prevent a loss of sweetness. In particular, since super sweet corn already has a strong sweetness and flavor, it is better not to add additives such as sugar or salt.
