Some people store face masks in the refrigerator to use them chilled, but this is not a good practice. Cold temperatures can actually irritate the skin. The optimal temperature for storing cosmetics is around 15 degrees Celsius. Therefore, it is best to store them lying flat in a cool, dry place rather than in a refrigerator at 2 to 3 degrees Celsius. As an exception, water-soluble gel-type face masks that melt easily should be stored in the refrigerator.
