Dietary habits to prevent skin aging

1. Let's eat less sweet!
When blood sugar levels rise after consuming sweet foods, free radicals and advanced glycation end products (byproducts generated during the processing of carbohydrates) accumulate in the body; free radicals accelerate skin aging, and advanced glycation end products denature collagen, which is responsible for skin elasticity, thereby accelerating skin aging.
 
2. Let's also avoid salty foods.
Eating less salt is a way to prevent skin aging. The large amount of salt found in salty foods also depletes moisture from collagen in the skin, reducing elasticity and causing fine wrinkles. Furthermore, salt thins the skin layers, accelerating skin aging.
 
3. Let's eat fermented foods, vegetables, and fruits!
Fermented foods, vegetables, and fruits are good for preventing skin aging. Fermented foods such as kimchi, doenjang, and yogurt, as well as vegetables and fruits, help prevent skin aging by significantly reducing the absorption of allergens that cause inflammation in the body from the intestines.
 
4. Let's eat antioxidant foods!
Foods rich in antioxidants, such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E, also help prevent skin aging. Vitamin C is abundant in strawberries, kiwis, bell peppers, broccoli, rapeseed, spinach, fresh greens, and kale. Vitamin E is found in large quantities in radish greens, bell peppers, pumpkins, sunflower seeds, and anchovies, and various berries also help prevent skin aging.
 
5. Let's eat collagen-generating foods!
Foods containing amino acids such as glycine and proline, which are used in collagen production, also help minimize skin aging. Glycine is abundant in abalone, scallops, sea urchins, cutlassfish, and wheat germ. Proline is found in large quantities in pollock, yellow croaker, and shiitake mushrooms.
