✨💧 Original "Makeup-Effective" vs. New "Makeup-Effective" | An Honest Comparison of Ongredients Calming Lotion EX and Bakuglow Capsule Lotion

Lately, when browsing online communities, I see the phrase "good at eating" really often.
No matter how carefully you do your skincare, if dead skin cells start to flake or the foundation cakes the moment you apply your base, it bothers you all day long.
I also have combination skin, so my T-zone is oily while my U-zone feels dry from within, and I have always struggled with this problem.

Then, the brand I found out about was Ongredients.
It is a place that gained popularity through word of mouth as a lotion that makes makeup apply perfectly, to the point where people even said it was a must-have item at makeup shops.
I also got one with some skepticism, but I ended up sticking with it.

I placed it side by side with the Skin Barrier Calming Lotion EX I usually use and tried applying them alternately.
Even though they are from the same brand, the texture and the way the glow is applied are quite different, so I’m going to summarize the differences.

 

First, let's talk about the Skin Barrier Calming Lotion EX.
This product is already so famous as a lotion that helps makeup adhere well and gives an inner glow that it practically needs no explanation.

The texture flows smoothly like milk, but when you put it on the back of your hand, it is thinner than expected.
So when you apply it to your face, it spreads smoothly without feeling sticky.
Once absorbed, the surface remains dry and matte, while the inside stays moist.

 

The reason I keep using this lotion is because of the way it gives a glow.
It is not a greasy shine caused by excess oil, but an inner glow that shines subtly from within the skin.
Even after applying base, the shine didn't fade and remained intact.

I heard that the transparency has doubled with the renewal.
It definitely feels like it leaves fewer marks and absorbs faster than before.
I was most satisfied with this part because even when I didn't have time in the morning, I could just pat it on and apply sunscreen right away without any pilling.

 

I especially liked the finish.
The shine remains intact, but the surface is neatly finished.
Even after applying it, when I touched it with my hand, it didn't feel slippery or leave any residue.

Usually, products that give a glow often come with a lot of oiliness, you know.
But with this, the shine and freshness don't feel separate but go together.
I reach for it without hesitation, even in summer.

Next up is the new Bakuglow Capsule Lotion.

As the name suggests, it is a formulation with a capsule inside.
When you dispense some onto the back of your hand and spread it, it feels like it pops and spreads coolly.
It was fun to apply, so this was the most impressive part when I first used it.

 

The texture is much lighter than the EX introduced earlier.
Once absorbed, the skin surface leaves a fresh finish.
That said, it doesn't cause any tightness, so I liked the balance.

So, I think it would be a good fit for those with combination skin that is oily on the outside but dry underneath.
If you look for something lightweight because you find oiliness burdensome, you might miss out on deep hydration.
You know that worry where your moisturizing products break down by the afternoon?
It felt like it held the space in place well.

I find myself reaching for this area during the middle of summer when I'm concerned about oiliness in my T-zone.

 

I also feel my skin temperature drop slightly the moment I apply it.
In the summer, this is felt more significantly than expected.
When your skin heats up, oil rises along with it, causing your makeup to start to break down, you know?

This lotion feels like it starts by suppressing that heat sensation first.
It didn't smudge even when I applied base, and it lasted a long time.
Even on sweaty days, the point at which my T-zone starts to break down has definitely been delayed.

I understood why the term 'Hwajalmeok' was attached to it after using both of them.
However, since the way they eat it differs, I ended up choosing which one to use depending on the situation.

On days when I want to go out looking pretty in the morning, like when I have an appointment, I use EX.
I take out Bakuglow on days when I have to be outside all day.
It is best to keep both and use them alternately, but
If you have to choose just one, I think you should decide based on whether you prioritize morning glow or afternoon longevity.
