Reflecting on how I neglected my childhood relying solely on my youth, I would like to share some methods that have been very helpful to me recently.
- Sunscreen is essential. I mainly use products with high moisture content, but considering your activity level and skin condition, applying a sunscreen that suits you every day and reapplying frequently is the foundation of anti-aging and the most effective method.
- Cleanse with a moisturizing touch. I used to use foam cleansers that rinsed off until squeaky clean because I disliked the slippery feeling left on the skin, but I finally stopped doing that after turning forty. My skin felt drier and tighter, so I switched to a mildly acidic formula and felt the moisturization. I also skip double cleansing for light makeup.
- My routine involves applying a chemical exfoliating toner as the very first step after cleansing. You don't need facial scrubs, silicone finger gloves, or anything like that; just use a product containing ingredients that chemically exfoliate, such as AHA, BHA, PHA, or LHA. Doing just this will give you skin as smooth as a peeled egg.
- Using products containing retinol activates skin turnover, making the skin softer. However, since retinol is highly irritating, it is recommended to gradually increase the amount used and to give the skin a rest with a soothing cream like panthenol on days when retinol is applied.
This is the product that gave me peeled egg-like skin. You can experience a whole new world.
