When your skin breaks down during the change of seasons, get through it with just this one routine.

Whenever the seasons change, my skin inexplicably becomes dry and dull, and my previously healthy skin suddenly becomes sensitive, even leading to breakouts. It was stressful for me because this happened repeatedly, but after trying different things, I am now maintaining a routine that helps stabilize my skin.

 

First and foremost, what I pay the most attention to is cleansing. Since the skin barrier tends to weaken easily during seasonal changes, I use a mild cleanser rather than a product with strong cleansing power, and I try to wash my face as gently as possible without irritation. Water temperature is also important, so I avoid hot water and always wash with lukewarm water. After washing, I also make sure to gently pat my face dry instead of rubbing it with a towel.

 

After cleansing, I focus immediately on replenishing moisture. After refining my skin texture with a toner, I apply a hydrating serum or ampoule to moisten my skin from deep within. I find that maintaining a minimal routine using gentle products, rather than applying a lot of different items, actually feels more comfortable for my skin.

I also realized that moisturizing is really important during the changing seasons. Since my skin dries out easily, I make sure to apply cream to prevent moisture from evaporating. On days when my skin is particularly sensitive, I apply a slightly thicker layer than usual to create a protective barrier.

Lastly, I also feel that lifestyle habits are important. I noticed that simply drinking enough water and getting enough sleep made my skin feel less sensitive. Since the skin breaks down easily from even minor irritations during the change of seasons, I think the most important thing is to minimize irritation as much as possible and focus on hydration and moisturization.

 

I have been consistently using this routine myself, and I feel my skin is much less prone to breakdown and more stable than before, so I highly recommend it to anyone struggling with their skin during the changing seasons.
