A lemony perfume to use this summer :)

 

Do you like the scent of lemons? I'm going to become a lemon this summer.

 

 

 

My favorite perfume is 4711 Lemon & Ginger.

I actually had a bit of a preconceived notion about lemon scents. All the lemon perfumes I had smelled before were either too sweet or artificial. But 4711 Lemon & Ginger feels really fresh, invigorating, and clean.

At first, a refreshing lemon scent bursts out like lemonade, but as time passes, the fragrance becomes increasingly fresh. It stays crisp and fresh until the very end, without becoming powdery at all.

The downside is that the longevity is only about the same as Arden Green Tea when sprayed on the skin, but it lasts quite a long time if sprayed on clothes instead. The scent also feels fresher when sprayed on clothes.

I used to be able to easily buy this at Olive Young, but they don't sell it these days. It's sad because buying it directly from overseas makes it more expensive due to shipping fees. Sob sob.

 

 

 

This is Bossioli di Limon. Actually, it’s not a perfume I use as often as 4711, but since it has the same lemon scent, I’m tagging along to write about it.

If 4711 Lemon is like lemon juice or a lemon soaked in water like lemonade, then Bossioli feels like a somewhat dry lemon—though not exactly dried lemon. It feels more like powdered lemon-flavored sugar or ground lemon-flavored Chupa Chups. To me, it felt dry and gritty, like powder. It feels like they completely extracted the lemon scent briefly found in the top notes of Clean Warm Cotton; while it has a slightly artificial feel, the sweet and sour lemon scent isn't bad. Since it is a single scent from the top notes to the drydown, it is great for layering with other perfumes.
