This is a review of Laneige Gel Cream Skin, which calms dry and sensitive skin.
I really liked the Cream Skin product from the Laneige brand. Since it is a water-based toner with melted cream, it provided excellent hydration, so I used it quite often. It suited my combination skin (oily T-zone, dry cheeks) perfectly.
However, at some point, even this refreshing formula started to feel a bit heavy, so I stopped using it. Then, I ended up putting it in a mist bottle and using it well on my face and body. That is when I discovered its sister product, the Laneige Gel Cream Skin.
"Gel Cream Skin"—I wondered if it would be runny like snot. I was honestly curious about the texture. I also wanted to compare it with a standard cream skin. I was glad to purchase this product through Unnie Deal as well. Laneige products are always available here, so I use them regularly.
The appearance is the same as a cream skin. However, because it looks transparent, it gives off a more refreshing feeling. When I dispensed some onto my hand, the texture felt more like a watery skin toner or lotion than a cream skin. It flows easily, and when applied to the face, it feels incredibly moisturizing. However, the moisture doesn't evaporate immediately; instead, it absorbs deeply into the skin. Although it is watery, because it contains melted gel cream, it creates a soft texture and leaves a fresh finish. It felt clean and I really liked it as a basic skincare product.
Since it is the middle of winter and a cold, dry season, it is true that long-lasting hydration is important, but I didn't want my skin to feel heavy or suffocated. Maybe it's because I have combination skin (oily T-zone, dry cheeks), but I dislike products that are too oily just to maintain moisture, and I can't stand feeling heavy or stuffy. If I apply too much, my skin's balance gets disrupted and it suffers. On the other hand, if it is too watery, it feels like it strips away the moisture my skin already has.
In that sense, I think it is the perfect first step in my basic skincare routine to apply right after washing up. Since it is a cold day, I washed thoroughly with hot water, but when I stepped outside, the temperature difference made my skin feel even drier. My face felt like it was heating up slightly, but when I patted on the gel cream toner, it felt cool and seemed to gradually soothe my skin. This product has a few other functional benefits, but I’m not entirely sure about them yet. I think I will only know for sure after I consistently finish the bottle.
This winter has been unpredictable, alternating between warm and cold, and perhaps due to my poor health, my facial skin feels dry and sensitive. I want to focus on skin improvement treatments like whitening and pore care, which I've always wanted to do, but I'm worried they might irritate my skin, so I've been sticking to a routine of 'hydration, soothing, and moisturizing.' I think I need to apply this product first to provide some hydration and soothing care. I plan to pay close attention to normalizing my skin this way.
I think I will probably keep using this even as the weather gets warmer. I would love to share this product with others who, like me, want to moisturize and soothe sensitive skin.
