[Purchased with My Own Money] Botanical Therapy Easy Wash Sun Stick (feat. Baby Sun Stick)
Botanical Thera-B Easy Wash Sun Stick, a mineral sun stick
This is a sunblock product I bought with my own money.
Since my children are still young, I wanted to buy mineral sunscreens.
Since both my husband and I work, I wanted to give our children various experiences on weekends before COVID.
I tried to go on trips often, as well as go for outings and walks.
I wanted to protect my children's beautiful and delicate skin, especially since my son has naturally fair skin.
I found a gentle sun product suitable for children's skin, and
I've tried buying mineral sun cushions and sunscreens, but I found that a sun stick is still the best for going out.
Since sun sticks aren't bulky, you can just swipe them on your face, arms, and legs and rub them in to help with absorption.
So while I was looking around, I saw the Botanical Therapy Easy Wash Sun Stick! and thought, "This is it!"
I tried it once and was satisfied, so I ordered four of them during a hot deal, but then COVID-19 broke out, so I had to throw away the ones I was using.
Two new products expired, and since I've been walking 10,000 steps for my health lately, even during my company lunch break...
I walk and run for 30 minutes without fail, and since it's bad for my arms and legs to get sunburned, I'm diligently applying it to them.
When I used it, it was SPF 47/PA+++, but it changed to SPF 40 with the renewal.
As you all probably know, SPF 40 is sufficient, right?
Still, just in case, let me explain SPF and PA.
What is SPF? It is an index indicating the effectiveness of blocking ultraviolet B rays. It is displayed from 2 to 50+, and the higher the number, the better the effect.
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation can be classified into UV-C (100–280 nm), UV-B (280–315 nm), and UV-A (315–400 nm). The Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is an index indicating the effectiveness of a product in blocking UV-B rays. UV-B refers to the strong ultraviolet radiation primarily encountered when exposed to sunlight outdoors. SPF is an index that measures the duration of UV protection after application. It is said that each SPF unit provides 15 minutes of UV-B protection. Therefore, you can consider an SPF of 30 to provide UV protection for approximately 8 hours.
Normally, SPF 15 is sufficient, but when going outdoors in the summer or to a ski resort in the winter, it is recommended to apply a product with SPF 30 or higher and reapply it frequently.
The correct way to use sunscreen is to extend the UV protection time by reapplying it several times at intervals of 2 to 3 hours.
*What is PA? It is an index indicating the effectiveness of blocking UV-A rays. It is represented by +, ++, and +++, and the more plus signs there are, the greater the effect.
PA stands for 'Protection grade of UVA'! Although UVA is a weaker form of ultraviolet radiation compared to UVB, it penetrates deep into the skin, causing photoaging and skin damage. When UVA reaches the epidermis, it damages the skin's lipid components, weakening the skin barrier, and stimulates the basal layer—the innermost part of the epidermis—to induce the production of melanin pigment.
(All my blemishes are because of this PA!!! Until my mid-20s, I cluelessly wandered around outside without even applying sunscreen... and as a consequence, I ended up with dark spots with deep roots. These darn blemishes make me look even older ㅠㅠ So, I’m determined to make sure my children apply sunscreen diligently from a young age!!)
Since UVA acts on the skin for a long period to cause photoaging and various pigmentation disorders, you need to check the PA rating more carefully in daily life where there isn't much outdoor activity. In particular, while you need to be careful about UVB when going outdoors, UVA penetrates windows and enters indoors, so it is a form of everyday UV radiation that requires caution even indoors. That is why it is recommended to apply sunscreen even indoors. Of course, this is also because UV rays are emitted from fluorescent lights.
I try to apply sunscreen as much as possible, even when I'm at home or on cloudy days. I know I can't do anything about the blemishes that have already formed, but I certainly don't want to let any more appear.
So, even though the Botanical Therapy Easy Wash Sun Stick has been renewed with SPF 40, it still has PA +++, making it suitable for outdoor activities. And since it is a mineral sunscreen, you can use it with peace of mind.
This is the packaging for the Botanical Therapy Easy Wash Sun Stick.
Since mine is the pre-renewal version, it is SPF 47/PA+++.
A sun stick that has completed skin irritation testing and contains 7 plant-based ingredients~ It can be easily removed even with the first wash.
It is sensitive to sweat, but as I mentioned above, you need to apply sunscreen every 2-3 hours, or at least every 3-4 hours, for it to be effective.
As you can see from the product, even though my hands are small, it fits perfectly in one hand.
It isn't too big for children's hands, so they can hold it and apply it easily.
Some sunstick products have large containers, so they can be difficult for children to hold and apply.
This is a size that fits perfectly in children's hands. Kids enjoy applying it themselves, swiping it on easily.
If you open the lid, you can turn the dial like this to lift it up and apply it.
There is a slight cloudiness, but it disappears if you rub it with your hands.
I will apply it to my hand to compare. First, here is the back of my hand without sunscreen.
And this is the back of my hand after applying the sunstick. Doesn't it look like it's been slightly moisturized? Haha.
Perhaps because it is on the back of the hand, I do not feel any white cast even after applying it for the first time.
I filmed a video of myself applying it to the back of my hand and arm.
Take a look at how well it applies.
Just swipe it on and rub it in with your hands, and you're done with UV protection!
I think that's why sun sticks are so convenient.
Let me explain the Botanical Therapy Sun Stick in more detail.
It is a safe sun stick free of 9 additives and has completed skin irritation testing.
It washes off easily with water, is really convenient to carry, and is a non-nano, fragrance-free mineral sunscreen.
A sunstick that feels less guilty towards both children and the Earth!
And it is said to contain a special soothing ingredient that calms the skin.
Take a look at the five key features of this Botanical Therapy Easy Wash Sun Stick.
After reviewing the five points,
It is a sun stick that I can trust and use on both my children and my own skin, isn't it?
Since my son is in 4th grade, he walks around school by himself after Taekwondo practice.
Since we go out to the playground to play at school, we often have to go out into the scorching sun.
My son is the fairest and fairest-skinned person in our house.
I quickly ordered the renewed sun stick to protect my precious skin.
I should tell them to keep it in their bag and apply it from time to time.
I told him that he thinks freckles are popping up on his skin, maybe because puberty is slowly setting in, and he didn't like it... lol
I keep one of the two expired ones at the office and carry the other in my bag to apply to my arms, legs, and the like frequently.
Of course, as for the face!! If you already apply sunscreen, BB cream, and cushion foundation in the morning, a sun stick will cause your makeup to smudge.
I pat it on occasionally with a sunblock cushion.
Let's protect our skin from UV rays!
That concludes my introduction to the Botanical Therapy Sun Stick, which I bought with my own money.
