I purchased the Burt's Bees Natural Lip Shimmer online, and it is not at all uncomfortable to apply even without makeup. The color payoff is also very soft and smooth. Now that I look at it, it seems like it has melted quite a bit, but I think that is because it is summer.
It doesn't settle into lip lines or accentuate dry skin, and although it has a slightly lip balm texture, the color payoff is more vivid than I expected, which I liked.
My lips usually felt too dry when I applied lipstick, but this one doesn't have that problem; it provides color while staying moderately moisturizing.
If there is a downside, it is that it doesn't come up well even though I haven't used it much yet. Perhaps because the material is a bit soft or the formula itself lacks firmness, it feels like it gets mushy easily.
