Is there a gentle exfoliator that removes dead skin cells without drying them out?

I have problematic skin, so I can't use just any cosmetic product. In particular, when I use exfoliants, my skin gets hot and red, or the irritation is so severe that my dermatitis recurs. Alternatively, my skin becomes extremely dry after use. Are there any products that are suitable for problematic skin without causing severe dryness? Or, could you recommend some exfoliation methods suitable for problematic skin? Thank you.
