Is reapplying the sun stick effective?

I use a sun stick when I get ready for work in the morning..

It gets hot walking back and forth all morning... and I heard that sun sticks offer less protection than sunscreen.

I apply it one more time after lunch...

Someone once said that sun sticks don't have much of a sun protection effect...

One of the advantages of using it is that it is convenient to apply with just a quick swipe.
