When choosing a cleansing product, I always try to test everything I'm curious about—those with good reviews and great value—but there are times when I wonder why I get breakouts only on me or why the cleansing effect feels insufficient. While it's true that I might have used products that don't suit my skin type, I've realized it's often because I'm not using them properly. Do you have any great tips on how to ensure a thorough cleanse if you follow them?
1. I start by washing my hands thoroughly. Since not washing my hands means transferring the germs directly to my face, I always make sure to wash my hands with antibacterial hand wash.
2. Wash with lukewarm water, even in the hot summer. I found that washing with cold water just because it's hot reduces the cleansing effect.
3. Lather the foam cleanser before applying it to your face. I found that rolling it on my face prolongs the cleansing time and irritates the skin.
4. Rinse thoroughly. Once you feel you are done, rinse three more times. Wash away any remaining cleansing product.
