Is laser treatment for melasma effective?

My melasma isn't severe.

But I heard that once melasma starts to become visible, it rises from the lower skin layers in an instant.

So, I thought that getting the procedure done quickly now that it has started to become slightly visible might be more effective.

I looked up reviews for dermatology clinics, and there aren't many for melasma, but tons of reviews for acne.

Has anyone received laser treatment for melasma?

I am writing this because I am curious about how effective just one treatment is, and whether there is almost no pain since anesthetic cream is applied.
