Is there a way to deal with creasing under the eyes after applying makeup?
Since I have large eyes, I used to think it was okay even if my under-eye area moved a lot and folded when I smiled or made facial expressions. However, lately, whenever I apply makeup, the creasing under my eyes is so severe that it is stressful.
Even though it looks fine at first after applying cushion foundation or concealer, after just a short while, the makeup settles into the wrinkles under my eyes. When I look closely in the mirror, my under-eye area looks messy, and it feels like my skin is getting drier because of the makeup. These days, I find myself being careful even when smiling, whether I'm talking to people or watching TV.
I've tried making my base makeup more moisturizing, consistently applying eye serum, reducing the amount of concealer, and applying it thinly, but I don't think there is as much of a difference as I expected. Also, when I touch it up, it feels like it clumps and settles into crease, so I'm starting to not know what to do.
When I look at it in bright light or up close in the mirror, my under-eye makeup looks cracked, making me look older than my age. It seems to be more noticeable when I wear makeup than when I'm barefaced, so applying makeup has become a huge source of stress for me lately.
How do people with a lot of under-eye movement usually deal with this kind of creasing? Do you have any tips to prevent creasing under the eyes even after time passes?
