Could skin redness and flaking be caused by damage to the skin barrier?

Lately, my skin has been sensitive and frequently turns red, so I am worried.
On top of that, since dead skin cells are forming along with it, I keep wondering if this might be due to damage to my skin barrier.
I've heard that if the skin barrier is damaged, its moisturizing and protective functions decrease. So, I'm wondering what I should prioritize taking care of my skin right now.
I would like to know what lifestyle habits I should improve to prevent and repair skin barrier damage, and how much influence sleep and stress management have.
I am also curious about which products are effective, and what the order and combination should be, from cleansing to moisturizing and nourishment.
In particular, when managing a damaged skin barrier, I would like to know if it is important to avoid overly irritating products and combine necessary ingredients appropriately, and whether I should adjust my routine depending on the season or environment.
I have heard that damage to the skin barrier affects skin condition and the occurrence of skin problems in the long term. If so, I would like to receive expert recommendations on what I should prioritize improving right now.
Ultimately, I think I would feel much more at ease if I could receive specific advice and tips on which products to use and what routine to follow to prevent and manage skin barrier damage.
As redness and flaking recur and sensitivity persists, I am increasingly concerned that simply moisturizing might not be enough and am eager to learn how to fundamentally restore my skin barrier.
Since severe skin barrier damage affects skin texture, tone, and the frequency of breakouts, I believe that establishing a routine to properly manage and restore my skin is the first step in improving my current skin condition.
