La Roche-Posay Cicaplask Balm recommended for oily/dehydrated skin
Since I have combination skin, I’ve always been a skincare nomad, so I’ve tried a lot of functional cosmetics from famous brands that are said to be good.
My skin had become thin and sensitive due to dermatological peeling and laser treatments. Among the products recommended for sensitive skin, La Roche-Posay Cica Flask Balm was the best to use as a regenerating cream.
I have used various thermal water-based brands, such as Physiogel cream, Avène Cicalfate, and Bioderma Atoderm cream.
The La Roche-Posay Cicaplask Balm was my favorite product because it absorbs well and keeps the skin moisturized.
La Roche-Posay Cicaplask Balm is made up of panthenol, madecassoside, and thermal spring water.
It has a soothing effect on problematic skin with severe breakouts or sensitive skin with a compromised barrier, aiding in skin regeneration. Its slightly thick and oily texture makes it suitable for use as a highly moisturizing cream.
I use it as a regenerating cream after dermatological procedures, and as the finishing cream for my moisturizing skincare routine during the dry autumn and winter seasons.
It is neither too runny nor too thick—it falls somewhere between a balm and a thick consistency. It is not stiff to apply, so you just need to pat it in slightly to help with absorption. Also, since it is fragrance-free, I liked that it wasn't irritating to use.
If you find it burdensome due to oiliness, applying just a small amount over a hydrating gel or light moisturizer as a finishing step makes it less greasy and works well. I recommend this as a soothing and regenerating cream that helps improve the skin barrier.
