It was more matte than I expected, and the staying power is average. Still, the color is pretty, so it's good to wear anywhere. I found that you need to moisturize thoroughly with lip balm before applying it to prevent dryness and flaking. Some lipsticks wear down quickly, but since this is a pencil and feels firm, I've been using it for a long time.
