Reason for purchase

I have tried both lip-specific Vaseline and regular Vaseline, but they just felt like they were sitting on the surface; I didn't feel like they were moisturizing or calming down my dry skin at all. Many of my acquaintances carry this product with them every day, so I decided to trust them and buy it during a 1+1 promotion at Olive Young.

 

💦 Moisturizing and finish (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

My lips didn't become dramatically smooth immediately, but after applying it intermittently every day for about 3-4 days, the dead skin cells calmed down completely. Even the severely flaky areas were just peeling, and my lips felt sufficiently moisturized without any dryness. Despite providing such good hydration, it didn't feel sticky like Dior lip balm; instead, it finished lightly and silkily, just like applying a little hand cream, which I was very satisfied with. I think this is one of the best purchases I made during the Olive Young Black Friday sale!

 

💟 Does not melt easily (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Another advantage I liked is that it doesn't melt even when placed in a padded pocket. Despite that, when applied to the lips, it wasn't hard; instead, it melted from body heat and spread smoothly.

I've decided to stick with Bioderma for lip balm... Olive Young is still running the 1+1 promotion, so for those of you planning to buy lip balm! And especially for those with sensitive lips. This product always comes up in blogs written by people who have suffered from lip inflammation. Trust me, please, please buy this product.

 

2️⃣ Bepantol Lip Cream

 

 

You all know the "Bepanthen" ointment used to treat dermatitis, right? Bepantol is a cosmetic product containing Dexpanthenol, the active ingredient in Bepanthen. Dexpanthenol is absorbed into the skin and converted into Pantothenic Acid, or Vitamin B5, which helps damaged skin tissue become healthy from within! That is why Bepantol can be described as a product that helps repair the skin barrier. 🙂 Back when I was suffering severely from exfoliative cheilitis, I used to read blog reviews about complete recovery whenever I had the chance. The product everyone mentioned was Bepantol Lip Cream. They all said that the steroid ointments prescribed by doctors only provide temporary relief, and since the inflammation tends to recur if you stop applying them, they don't address the root cause. So, I decided to take a chance and buy the Bepantol Lip Cream they recommended.

 

💦 Moisturizing power (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Since it is a cream type, it definitely has a level of moisturizing power that is on a whole different level compared to regular balm sticks. Unlike normal lip exfoliation, the dead skin cells on inflamed lips are thick and large, and it takes quite a long time to subside! After applying a generous amount of this product, the dead skin cells soften to some extent, so I felt less dryness or stinging.

 

🧪 Capacity (⭐️⭐️⭐️)

7.5ml is a really small amount for a cream... It’s a quantity that might be a bit disappointing for those who want to apply it generously. However, even a thin layer provides sufficient hydration, and since it is meant to be used for care in the morning and evening, or after brushing your teeth, rather than applied frequently like a lip balm, it doesn't actually run out that quickly. If your mouth gets dry very often, I recommend carrying a lip balm to apply frequently in addition to this.

 

💵 Price (⭐️⭐️⭐️)

It's a double-pack product containing two items, but the total volume is only 15ml, yet the price is 14,400 won… a bit expensive, right? However, since it contains the same ingredients found in Bepanthen ointment, I thought the price was only natural. Generally, I don't think people with healthy lips have any reason to buy it! If you consider it an investment for those with sensitive lips who want to take care of them, I feel it is a reasonable price. That is why I gave it 3 points instead of 2. :)

Even though the price and quantity are a bit steep, I think this product deserves a 5 out of 5 just for the quality alone! I was always upset and depressed because my lips were so dry and flaky, but after using this product, I saw improvement very quickly. Some people take a year to fully recover, and while my condition wasn't severe, I cleared up in about 2-3 weeks what I had been struggling with for three months, and I believe using this product was the key to its success. So, if there are others suffering like me, I really hope you read this review and buy this.

 

3️⃣ Melixir Vegan Lip Butter 03 Red Velvet

 

 

Color payoff (⭐️⭐️⭐️)
I used to apply lip tint every day, even on days I wasn't wearing makeup, because I was obsessed with lip color... but perhaps due to the chemical ingredients, my lips broke out badly for a while 🥲 Since then, I try to stick to lip balm as much as possible on a daily basis! Still, I felt a bit disappointed going around without any color, when I happened to see a blog post from someone who was suffering from lip inflammation just like me. They mentioned that they use this product for lip color on days they wear makeup. After trying it myself, I found that since it is a lip balm, it is difficult to achieve the intense color payoff of a tint. You have to apply it about 4-5 times to get a deep red, and if you just lightly dab it on, it only gives a subtle reddish tint. However, compared to other products sold at Olive Young, the ingredients are much better, and the application is smooth, so I liked that it didn't irritate my lips!!!

 

💦 Moisturizing (⭐️⭐️)
I tend to like my lips to feel a bit oily, so I didn't find this product to be super moisturizing 🥲. However, if you dislike the feeling of lip balm sitting on the surface of your lips, I think you will find it sufficiently hydrating!

 

💵Price (⭐️⭐️)
It is a wicked price tag of 12,000 won for a single lip balm, but since it is made entirely of good vegan ingredients, I think the price matches the quality. Still, over 10,000 won for one is... (ㅠㅠ) If you have sensitive lips like me and really want to wear makeup, I don't think it's a bad idea to invest in it!! However, if you have healthy lips, I think it would be better to mix a moderate amount of cheaper lip balm and tint!

Overall, it's not a bad product! However, the price is steep, so I can't really recommend it strongly right away...! I only recommend it to those who prefer vegan products, those with sensitive lips who can't use just any product, or those who want to replace their usual tint with a tinted lip balm :)
