Dead skin cells settling on the sides of the nose

Lately, when I apply sunscreen followed by cushion foundation, there is some creasing on the sides of my nose—should I call it dead skin cells? Is it because of dryness?
Is there a solution? I've been exfoliating a lot lately, but it's still like this.
