I think they used to market it like an essence to apply before the essence.

I just use it after my toner.

There are also many times when I forget to apply essence or skip it because it's a hassle...

The lid is a dropper, so it is designed to be applied to the face and absorbed after use.

 

 

 

 

I am using it because it is lightweight and has good moisturizing properties.

I'm not sure if it has a significant effect on improvement, but I'm using it for a sense of peace of mind.
