Instead of using a skin toner, I apply this at least twice to allow it to absorb before proceeding to the next step. After doing so, it handles even moderate dryness effortlessly. Applying it once is sufficient in the summer, while I apply it up to three times in the winter. It doesn't pill at all and absorbs so tightly that I've lost count of how many bottles I've gone through, and I always feel at ease keeping a spare one stocked up.
