Gentle Cleansing Product Review: Real Barrier Cream Cleansing Foam
Recently, I used a harsh cleanser that damaged my skin barrier and caused severe redness and itching. While looking for a cleanser suitable for sensitive skin, I purchased and started using Neopharm Real Barrier's Cream Cleansing Foam, which is famous for its Extreme Cream.
The container looks similar to standard cleansing foams, but the capacity is quite large at 220ml! I purchased the large size because I wanted to use this for a long time. The official Neopharm online store sells both 120ml and 220ml sizes, so please be careful not to confuse them. (Note that the large 220ml size is currently sold out following the sale, so it may be difficult to purchase it at a discount.)
As shown above, the texture is soft and firm, and the skin stays moisturized without feeling tight after washing.
There wasn't much residue after washing my face. Perhaps because I don't usually wear heavy makeup and just apply basic skincare, sunscreen, and BB cream, I didn't need to double cleanse; it didn't leave any residue on my skin and didn't feel like it was thoroughly cleaned. However, if you have oily skin, it might not feel refreshing because it lacks that characteristic squeaky-clean feeling! (Since I have extremely dry skin, even a mild cleanser was enough to leave me feeling refreshed.)
I have been using this for over a week and I am very satisfied. Unless it is discontinued, I plan to use only this cleansing foam.
Most importantly, the troubles on my sensitive skin have significantly decreased! I used to use a famous cleanser that supposedly cleans all the pores, but perhaps because it cleaned too vigorously, after a few months I started experiencing itching, my skin surface became rough, and I even got dead skin cells and tiny pimples around my mouth—to the point where I was debating whether to go to a dermatologist...
After researching, I found that overly harsh cleansing and exfoliation could be the cause of sensitive skin, so I switched to a mild cleanser. A few days after using this, my skin barrier definitely seems to have recovered; the itching has decreased, the bumps have disappeared, and my skin surface has become smooth.
Of course, I made an effort to restore my skin barrier and fix my sensitive skin by switching not only my cleanser but also my toner to Cica and my cream to Peptide, but it seems that changing my cleansing foam had the biggest impact on my skin condition. If you have sensitive and extremely dry skin that causes frequent breakouts, I recommend trying a gentle cleanser. I highly recommend the Real Barrier Cream Cleansing Foam.
