I'm sharing nutrients that protect the skin from UV rays.

Vitamin C = According to research, a diet rich in Vitamin C helps reduce noticeable fine lines and soothe dry and irritated skin. Foods rich in Vitamin C, which has antioxidant properties, include oranges, lemons, strawberries, kiwis, and bell peppers.

Vitamin E protects the lipid membranes of cells damaged by ultraviolet rays. Excessive exposure to sunlight leads to a loss of Vitamin E, which can make the skin easily damaged. Eating foods rich in this essential vitamin not only helps protect the skin but can also boost immunity. Add Vitamin E-rich foods to your diet, such as avocados, almonds, sunflower seeds, spinach, and broccoli.

Beta-carotene = According to research, antioxidants, including beta-carotene, help maintain skin health and can protect the skin from UV rays. Consume beta-carotene through carrots, chili peppers, red and yellow bell peppers, sweet potatoes, and more.

Omega-3 Fatty Acids = Omega-3s have anti-inflammatory properties that help protect the skin from harmful UV rays. Since many people are deficient in Omega-3s, it may be beneficial to take them as a supplement if needed. Salmon is not only rich in Omega-3 fatty acids but also in astaxanthin, a powerful carotenoid that helps protect skin cells from sunlight and reduce inflammation caused by sunburn. Salmon, krill oil, nuts, and seeds are good sources of Omega-3 fatty acids.
