Even if you haven't had mascara for long, when you go to use it, the brush is covered in thick layers of liquid. If you apply it directly to your eyelashes, they end up clumping and getting cakey. No matter how much you squeeze out the product from the opening, the brush gets dirty and the opening becomes extremely messy. My secret tip for that is to squeeze out some product from the brush at the opening, then quickly wipe the front, sides, and back of the bristles with a wet tissue. This removes the clumps of fibers stuck to the brush, leaving your lashes looking as clean and fresh as if you just bought a new tube.
