Increasing makeup longevity in summer

In the summer, makeup tends to cake and smudge easily due to high humidity, strong sunlight, sweat, and sebum.

As the temperature rises, skin temperature also increases, leading to increased sebum production. When sweat is added to this, foundation tends to smudge or cake easily.

In particular, if you apply your base too thickly or use products with a high oil content, the staying power may decrease.

So, the key to summer makeup is to keep it light and thin.

 

1. In summer, it is important to use light and refreshing products focused on hydration rather than oil, and to let them absorb fully for about 5 minutes after applying your basic skincare products to prevent pilling.

 

2. If your skin feels hot, sebum rises to the surface faster, so slightly lowering your skin temperature before applying makeup helps improve its longevity.

 

3. Using primer is quite important during the summer.

It smooths pores and regulates sebum secretion, helping foundation adhere well.

Using a small amount only on areas where oil tends to build up, such as the T-zone or the sides of the nose, helps with pore coverage and improves longevity.

 

 

4. For base makeup, applying it thinly and closely adheres better makes it last longer than applying it thickly.

Pat thinly with a puff, cover only the necessary areas with concealer, and apply foundation in small amounts multiple times for better longevity.

 

5. Use powder to control oil during the final step of your base makeup.

Use a brush to apply it lightly, and since applying too much powder can make your skin look dry and cakey, using a small amount mainly on the T-zone, sides of the nose, and center of the chin where oil tends to build up will give you a much cleaner look.

 

6. Eyeliner and mascara smudge easily, so it is recommended to use waterproof products.
