Does spraying water on dry skin provide moisture?
(x) Since the stratum corneum, the outermost layer of the skin, is composed of keratinocytes and lipids, hydrophobic components are well absorbed, while hydrophilic substances are hardly absorbed. In other words, spraying water does not result in absorption; instead, it evaporates and draws away heat, which can actually make the skin drier.
The mist might actually dry out the skin.
