Let's find out about foods that are good for hair loss.
1. Water
It is said that one of the main causes of hair loss is poor blood circulation. Since blood and moisture in the body are not properly delivered to the scalp, leading to a lack of nutrients for the hair, it is essential to consume sufficient water. Although the recommended daily water intake varies by person, it is advisable to consume about 2 liters per day, except in cases of kidney disease.
2. Walnut
According to the *Donguibogam* (a classic Korean medical text), walnuts help improve blood circulation and darken hair. While they support brain health, they also boast excellent effects in boosting physical stamina, as well as preventing various skin diseases and hair loss. The abundant Vitamins B and E found in walnuts nourish the hair, and the richness in linoleic acid—known as Vitamin F—helps black hair grow well. Although consuming plenty of walnuts is beneficial, washing your hair with water boiled with walnut leaves is said to be effective in preventing gray hair and hair loss.
3. Black beans
It facilitates the smooth functioning of the kidneys and bladder, playing a role in rapidly restoring damaged body tissues. It is particularly effective for gray hair and hair loss, which is attributed to the components in black beans that promote smooth blood circulation.
4. Black sesame
It is beneficial for hair loss caused by liver and kidney deficiency. Consistently consuming black sesame seeds makes hair shiny and prevents hair loss. It is said that finely grinding black sesame seeds and mixing them with milk, water, or yogurt to drink one glass every morning is very effective in preventing high blood pressure and hair loss.
5. Kelp
It contains large amounts of Vitamin A, which helps form the main components of hair; Vitamin D, which regenerates damaged hair; and Vitamin E, which aids blood circulation in the scalp. It helps promote strong and healthy hair and also helps prevent hair loss.
6. Pine needles
According to the *Donguibogam*, pine needles are said to have the effect of promoting hair growth. Pine needles are rich in amino acids and Vitamin A; amino acids help supply protein to stimulate hair growth, Vitamin A prevents hair from drying out, and abundant iron facilitates smooth blood circulation to the hair, making them effective for hair growth. Drinking pine needle tea during the changing seasons, when hair loss symptoms worsen, helps prevent not only colds but also hair loss.
7. Egg
Since hair is composed of protein, supplying protein is essential for preventing hair loss. While most foods contain protein, eggs are one of the most protein-rich foods, constituting a complete protein. The biotin found in eggs is an essential component of protein metabolism, such as keratin, which makes up hair; it aids in hair growth and helps prevent gray hair. Additionally, the lecithin contained in the yolk helps keep hair moisturized. If you desire thick, fast-growing hair, it is advisable to consume eggs regularly.
