Is lotion essential when doing skincare?

I mainly have a basic routine

After applying toner

After applying moisturizer

I just apply the ampoule and that's it.

Do I really need to apply lotion?

If you apply lotion

I feel so suffocated........

I don't even apply it when I wear makeup.

I'm conflicted.

I think it's even more so these days because it's dry.
