Come on in if you are worried about folliculitis!

Maybe because the weather is so hot these days, I have a lot of sebum and oil.

It came out. Actually, about three weeks ago, I had a lot of bumps popping up on my skin, so I went to a dermatologist, and they said it was folliculitis.

I was prescribed an ointment, so I applied it consistently for a few days, but then I stopped using it for two weeks. I’ll share how I managed to restore my skin to some extent without the ointment!

Before learning about skincare methods, we first need to address the causes of folliculitis. The probability of developing folliculitis without doing anything is extremely low. While acne is usually caused by sebum, folliculitis is caused by bacteria. It can occur if the scalp is not washed thoroughly or if waste products accumulate within the skin. In short, folliculitis frequently occurs when there is an internal problem. Lack of sleep also plays a role.

Now, let's get to the main point and I'll share my skincare routine. I've listed the products I used below, so please take a look!

First of all, cleansing is really important. It is best to avoid using cleansing foams with excessive cleansing power, as they can irritate the skin. Also, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly before washing your face! Although it is recommended to use a face towel, I didn't have one, so I just gently patted my face dry with a towel to minimize irritation. Then, I applied the toner I had set aside just once. You can think of it as squeezing it onto your hands and letting it absorb into your skin. I tried using a cotton pad, but it didn't feel like it absorbed well, so I recommend letting it absorb with your hands. And please make sure to wait at least 30 seconds.

Drinking water during that time is also a good method. You need to replenish moisture to achieve clear and transparent skin. Once it seems fully absorbed, it is time to apply the cream I posted below. You should not overuse it, as squeezing out too much just to make your skin glow will result in an oil explosion and breakouts the next morning. So, how much is the right amount? To apply the right amount, it is best to use about two-thirds to one joint of your finger. For reference, one joint refers to the top section of your finger, which is divided into several segments. Also, instead of spreading it directly on your skin, it is better to roll it around about two or three times. Rolling helps to loosen up any clumps of cream, and once you spread it on your face, you will feel the moisture rather than the oiliness. The product I posted tightens pores, so it will give off a subtle glow, but don't worry, it is not oil! I applied it in the order of both cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin, but this isn't a strict rule to follow exactly, so feel free to apply it however you feel comfortable. It seems like it.

If you follow this skincare routine, you can take good care of your skin without ointment. However, you should not rely solely on this method and stay up late or intentionally skip applying ointment even after visiting a dermatologist.
