I'm sharing the method I finally settled on as someone whose foundation always used to cake 🥲
I was seriously so stressed because whenever I did my makeup, the foundation would cake up around my nose and mouth.
It's fine, especially in the morning, but when I look in the mirror at school or out, the dead skin cells are noticeable and my makeup is cracked, so it bothered me a lot...
But after trying various things, it's gotten much better lately, so I'm writing down the methods that worked for me!
First of all, the biggest problem was dead skin cells. In the past, I used to scrub a lot to help my makeup apply well.
But actually, my skin became more sensitive, so it felt like it was flaking off even more.
These days, instead of a scrub, I just lightly refine my skin texture with a toner pad and let the moisturizer absorb fully.
And I thought applying a lot of foundation gave better coverage, but I found that applying thin layers multiple times prevents it from caking much more!
It seems important to apply it by patting rather than rubbing hard with a puff.
Especially the sides of my nose and around my mouth have both oil and dryness, so if I applied too much powder, it would crack immediately.
These days, I only apply a very light touch where needed, so it stays much more natural haha.
I think it was really important to take care of hydration according to my skin condition, rather than just going for a matte finish!
If anyone else has been stressed about foundation caking like me, give this a try💛
