My own routine to tackle dry skin

I used to have a lot of concerns because my skin was oily on the surface but dry underneath, but after creating my own layering routine to address inner dryness, I definitely felt a difference.

Step 1.

After cleansing, instead of applying toner just once, I use a two-step layering method: soaking a cotton pad thoroughly, patting it onto my skin, and then pressing it in with my hands to aid absorption. At first, patting with my hands felt like a hassle, but after actually trying it, I can definitely feel the difference in how the moisture penetrates deep into the skin, not just the surface.

I realized that it's important to pat it in to help with absorption, rather than wiping it off.

Step 2.

During the serum step, instead of applying a large amount at once, I used a method of applying small amounts in two stages, starting from the drier areas of my face and focusing on the center, to allow for absorption. In particular, the cheeks and chin area have a mix of sebum and dryness, so applying it only once would leave the surface moisturized while my skin still felt tight underneath. By applying it in two stages, the hydrating feeling from within lasted longer. I previously used La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum, but my makeup would cake after application, so I have recently switched to a different, lighter hydrating serum. I am much more satisfied with this change, as it addresses inner dryness without causing my makeup to cake.

Step 3.

I made it a rule to apply the cream thinly so that my skin wouldn't feel heavy. At first, I felt tempted to apply multiple layers because a thin layer didn't seem sufficient, but doing so caused my makeup to cake or feel sticky. So, I found that applying just the bare minimum and adding a little more only to the areas where it was absolutely necessary was enough.

Step 4.

I added a step to lightly spray a mist all over my face. When the serum and cream alone weren't enough to fully hydrate my skin, spraying the mist at the end left my skin feeling incredibly dewy, and my base makeup didn't cake. In fact, if I compare days when I followed this routine with days when I just applied serum and cream, I can definitely feel the difference.

Even in dry weather like this, my skin stays hydrated from within and feels comfortable. Since makeup applies smoothly without caking, it has significantly reduced my stress. I am sharing this routine because I have tried it for a long time and definitely felt its effects, and it is great for inner dryness.

저는 세안 후에 미스트를 먼저 뿌려주고 있어요. 그 위에 크림을 덧발라주니까 하루 종일 촉촉해서 만족하고 있습니다.
