WakeMake Artist Hard Pencil

I bought this product at Olive Young for my mom to draw her eyebrows...

But is it normal for the pen to be this stiff and not draw well?

Even the swatch on the back of my hand is only this color payoff after I pressed down hard enough to make my hand hurt, going back and forth about 20 times.

Is the product defective? Or will it be better if I sharpen a new one?

It's such an old product that I wondered if I bought it without noticing, but when I checked, the expiration date is December 2014;;;

I bought it but didn't use it right away, so about a month has passed... Now it's really hard to get a refund for a different product...

I bought those two, brown and gray, back then, and both look like that;;;;;;;

This is really awkward...
