How effective are acne patches?

I bought some Daiso acne patches.

I'm wondering if acne patches actually work.

I've been getting frequent breakouts lately, so I was thinking of trying patches to break the habit of touching my skin. I only used one briefly at night, so I'm not sure if it really calms the skin down quickly or if it just provides protection.

I am also curious if it is very noticeable when worn during the day, if it is okay to use over makeup, and for those who have used it, please let me know what the results are.
